Ever since I was in junior high school, I have loved to write.
I’ve always been proud of my ability to create dramatically tragic stories where half the characters end up dead. I have learned to be happy when my characters are successful, sad when they fail, angry when their world seems to be against them, and absolutely depressed when they die.
While the forced continuation of this vicious cycle might just seem to be masochistic on my part, there is a reason why I continue on, and that is because I need to get these vivid stories out of my head and into the world. Some people see stories as words, others as drawings. I see them as videos, with little pieces of different scenes flashing through my mind, and if I don't take down these stories, they continue to bug me and I am unable to forget about them.
Writing is an incredible tool by itself, but I have come to realize just how much more amazing it is to see your story actually unfold in front of your eyes. It makes me marvel just how much power some writers have over their products; Steven Moffat, for example, is often credited is the top power in the creative process of BBC's Doctor Who and Sherlock as he is the current head writer for both these shows. It is awe-inspiring to know that while the specific episodes might not have come from him, the complex story arcs all stem from one mind.

They say that you can create worlds with just a stroke of a pen, but through screenwriting you bring those worlds into reality. That is what I strive to do. I want to tell the stories of people who haven’t yet been born and expose the worlds that don’t yet exist.
That is why I want to write.
